Paint protection film is a thick, clear urethane film applied over the paint. Where a ceramic coating makes paint easier to clean and resists UV and chemical etching, film physically absorbs stone chips, gravel rash and light scuffs, and its top layer heals light scratches with heat from the sun.

Ideal for

  • New cars, before the first chip
  • Highway and country driving
  • Bonnets, bumpers, mirrors and sills
  • A full front end or the whole car

Why film.

Chip Protection

The film takes the stone chips and gravel rash that a coating can't stop.

Self-Healing

Light scratches and swirls in the film's top layer heal with heat from the sun or warm water.

Invisible

Clear film follows the panel's shape, with edges wrapped or tucked wherever the panel allows.

Coat Over It

A ceramic coating over the film keeps it glossy and easy to wash, so the two work together.

Film or ceramic coating: which do I need?

A coating makes paint easier to clean and resists UV and etching. Film physically absorbs stone chips, which a coating can't. Many owners coat the whole car and film the high-impact areas, like the bonnet and front bumper.

Can film go over a ceramic coating?

Film needs bare, corrected paint to bond to, so film goes on first and the coating goes over the top.
