Coatings

What is ceramic coating?

A liquid coating that bonds to your car's clear coat and hardens into a thin, glossy protective layer. Water and dirt slide off it, it resists UV fading and chemical etching from bird droppings and sap, and it makes the car much easier to wash.

How long does ceramic coating last?

Our coatings are rated from 3 to 10 years. How long one actually lasts depends on how the car is washed, where it's parked and how much sun and weather it sees. Safe hand washing helps it reach its full rating, and every coating includes a yearly check-up, where we make sure everything is as it should be and address any issue.

Which coatings do you use?

We're a certified Feynlab and Kraken installer. Feynlab is used for our 3 and 5-year packages and Kraken for our 7 and 10-year packages. We also use products from Rupes, Koch-Chemie, CarPro and STEK across our services.

Are you a certified installer?

Yes. We're certified by both Feynlab and Kraken, the two coating brands we use. Certified installers are trained in each brand's prep and application method, which is what the coating warranty relies on.

Ceramic coating vs paint protection film (PPF): what's the difference?

A coating is a hard, glossy chemical layer that makes paint easier to clean and resists UV and etching. PPF is a thick clear film that physically absorbs stone chips. Coating won't stop a stone chip; film will. Many owners coat the whole car and film high-impact areas like the bonnet and bumper.

What does the coating warranty cover?

Every coating comes with a warranty that matches its rating, from 3 to 10 years. Warranties are limited and the terms depend on the coating and your car, so we go through them with you individually before any work starts.

Does a coating make paint scratch proof?

No. A coating adds hardness and resists light marring from washing, but stone chips and deep scratches still happen. It makes the paint easier to keep clean and easier to look after.

Is there a coating that suits a daily driver?

Every package suits daily use. The choice comes down to how long you want the protection to last and how much correction your paint needs. Send us photos and we'll recommend one.

Pricing & Booking

How much does ceramic coating cost in Brisbane?

Our coatings start from $999 for 3-year protection, $1,099 for 5 years, $1,349 for 7 years and $1,499 for 10 years, including GST. The final price depends on the size of the car and how much paint correction it needs, so we confirm it after seeing the car.

How long does the car stay with you?

1 day, including prep, correction, coating and cure time. You get a firm drop-off and pick-up time when you book.

Is my car insured while it's with you?

Yes. We hold public liability insurance, and our cover includes customers' cars while they're in our care, from drop-off to pick-up. Ask us if you'd like the details before you book.

Prep & Aftercare

Can you coat an older or second-hand car?

Yes. Older paint usually needs correction first to remove swirls and oxidation, because a coating locks in whatever is underneath it. We'll inspect the paint and tell you honestly what it needs.

Do you correct the paint before coating?

Yes. A coating seals in the surface it is applied to, including swirls and scratches. Even the lightest package starts with a decontamination and a polish suited to the paint.

Can I wash the car after it is coated?

Keep it dry and out of the rain for the first week while the coating cures. After that, wash with a pH neutral shampoo and a clean mitt. We send written care instructions with every car.

Five stages, in this order.

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. That is why the work before the coating decides how the car looks afterwards.

  1. 01

    Inspect

Under strong light we map swirls, etching and chips, and take paint depth readings.

  2. 02

    Decontaminate

Foam wash, iron removal, tar removal and clay take off what washing leaves behind.

  3. 03

    Correct

Machine polish in as many stages as the paint needs and the clear coat allows.

  4. 04

    Coat

Panels are wiped to bare paint, then the coating is applied in controlled sections.

  5. 05

    Cure and Hand Over

The car cures indoors, gets a final inspection and goes home with care instructions.

Keep it looking like day one.

First Week

Keep the car dry and skip washing while the coating cures.

Washing

Use a pH neutral shampoo and clean mitts so dirt doesn't bond.

Avoid Brush Washes

Automatic brushes can mar paint. Hand wash or use touchless.

Yearly Check-Up

Included with every coating. We check everything is as it should be and address any issue.
